HE HAS been recording and performing music since 2003, so you have to take Nox Guni seriously when he says his latest single, ‘Ndinonyara’, is his biggest and best production yet.
Just seven days after release, the track had attracted over 6,000 views on YouTube – one of the best performances on the video sharing platform by a Zimbabwean artist.
Speaking from his base in South Africa on Friday, Nox said the song was produced by Russo at This Is Records, recorded by DJ Simmz at Bantu Beat Records in Johannesburg and then mixed and mastered by the Playboy at Bantu Beat Records.
The track features Nox in his element. If ever there was a key to a woman’s heart, Nox’s music would be it.
The video combines humour, great play acting and lyrical flourish by Nox who has seen his star rise over the last 12 months.
Nox said: “’Ndinonyara’ has been on top spot on Power FM (Zimbabwe) for the past month. I think that puts things in perspective.”
The ‘Garandichauya’ star has also released a new track, ‘Musikana Chidhakwa’, which is a collaboration with Stunner, recorded on their tour of the United Kingdom late last year.
‘Musikana Chidhakwa’ was produced by the UK-based Jusa Dementor and recorded by Roby Gee.
The track satirises a beautiful girl turned drunk with didactic undertones and challenges senseless drunkenness.
Meanwhile, Nox has revealed details of his new clothing design collection of casual and smart wear. Known as Ice n Roses, the collection is already on sale at selected shops in South Africa and the UK.
He also plans to release perfume under the same label.
